BECOME A PFI FREEDIVER LEAD INSTRUCTOR
DAN (Divers Alert Network) Dive Accident Insurance is required. If you do not have this already, you can sign up on the DAN website.

This is a 8-day course that includes all of the requirement courses to become a PFI Freediver Instructor. The courses are run consecutively and include Safety Freediver, Supervisor Freediver, Assistant Freediver Instructor, and Freediver Instructor certifications.
Graduation
Following the successful completion of the PFI Freediver Instructor program participates can teach the following PFI courses: Freediver, Safe Buddy, Snorkeler and related coaching or training events
TYPICAL SCHEDULE:
*Schedule is flexible based on the needs of the students and skill completion*
Plan for full days typically starting at 7:45am and ending around 5:00pm there will be a lunch break, but lunch will not be provided
Safety Freediver/Safety Supervisor
Day 1: Classroom and Pool
Day 2: Classroom and Pool
Day 3: Ocean and Classroom
Day 4: Ocean and Pool
Assistant Instructor and Instructor
Day 5: Classroom
Day 6: Classroom and Pool
Day 7: Ocean and Pool
Day 8: Ocean and Classroom (Final Exam)
Day 9: Makeup Day (Optional)
Please be sure to bring the items listed below:
1. Mask – A low volume freediving mask is recommended.
2. Fins – Long Blade Freediving Fins or Snorkeling fins.
3. Snorkel – A simple J-tube snorkel will be best.
4. Wetsuit – A 3mm is suitable year round in Florida. Open cell is preferable. A 1mm suit is the minimum requirement.
5. Weights – Small weights (1-2 lbs). It is better to adjust your buoyancy with smaller weights and also creates less drag. Coated weights are recommended, but uncoated weights are permitted as well.
6. Weight Belt– A rubber weight belt is necessary. Nylon weight belts are not permitted.
7. Freediving Computer – You will need a waterproof timing device. We highly recommend a freediving computer. The Aeris F.10, SporaSub SP1, and Beuchat Mundial are some of the best!
